Some of the highlights from our Lunar New Year Party this past February, “Under the Gallery: A Love Intersections Salon 沙龍” 🐉 🧧 ! Thank you to everyone for attending, our event was a labour of love and we were delighted to have sold out and to have had a full house! 🥳

Thanks to everyone who came out to the “House of 9 Dragons: Community, Family, Heritage” exhibit at @massyartssociety ! We loved meeting all of you, and hearing your experiences of the show. Thanks @anapaumijangos for putting together this recap of the day of programming we did at the Lim Sai Hor Kow Mock Benevolent Association building in February 🥰

#latergram photos of our community workshop with Sylvan Hamburger, a Vancouver based visual artist whom we collaborated with as part of our “House of 9 Dragons: Community, Family, Heritage” exhibit with the Lim Sai Hor Kow Mock Benevolent Association. Sylvan facilitated a workshop on the basics of monoprinting, and as a group, we created three prints, two of which involved incorporating textures and elements from the historic former Ming Wo building - which is where @massyartssociety is now :)

🧧Cultural Tributaries Building Tour with Orville Lim 🧧

Last weekend, @davidngstagram and @jensungshine discussed their ongoing collaboration with visual artist Sylvan Hamburger and Orville Lim of the Lim Sai Hor Kow Mock Benevolent Association. Together, they explored themes of cultural continuity and preservation, the significance of relationship and community building across differences and the challenges associated with better engaging youth & the diaspora at large within Benevolent Associations across Vancouver’s Chinatown.
